What 3D printing is used for

Additive manufacturing builds parts layer by layer, without tooling. That suits prototypes, small series, spare parts and geometries that cannot be milled or cast: internal channels, lattice structures, consolidated assemblies.

What matters on a 3D printer

The process determines material and quality: laser powder bed fusion for metal, laser sintering and Multi Jet Fusion for polyamide, FDM for thermoplastics up to PEEK, stereolithography for fine resin parts. The build volume limits part size. Metal parts usually need heat treatment and machining afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is 3D printing?

About ±0.1 to ±0.3 mm depending on the process. On metal parts, fits and threads are usually machined afterwards.

Does the listing state the process?

Machine and model show which process is involved. Many shops also name it in the description.

Is one of your machines idle next week?

List it before the week stays empty.
