What welding capacity is used for
Frames, racks, tanks, brackets and assemblies made from sheet and sections are welded. MAG is the usual process for steel, TIG for stainless steel, aluminium and visible seams, laser welding for thin sheet with little distortion. Robot cells pay off for series production.
What matters in a welding shop
Besides process and component size, qualifications count: welder approvals, welding coordination and, depending on the industry, certifications such as EN 1090 for structural steel, ISO 3834, or EN 15085 for rail vehicles. Shops state such qualifications in the description of the listing. For series work it matters whether fixtures exist or will be built.
Frequently asked questions
What does the shop need for a request?
A drawing with weld details, material, quantity, required testing and whether cut parts will be supplied. The clearer the request, the faster you get a quote.
What do width and length in the listing mean?
They give the component size the shop can weld at this station or in this cell. Material thickness is the greatest wall thickness.
Is one of your machines idle next week?
List it before the week stays empty.
