What press brake bending is used for

On a press brake the blank is bent between punch and die into the finished sheet metal part: angles, profiles, trays, enclosures and cladding. Bending usually follows straight after laser or punch, so buyers often look for both together.

What matters on a press brake

Press force and bending length determine which sheet thickness can be bent over which length. Then come the number of back gauge axes, angle measurement and the tooling on hand. Tight radii and short flanges need matching dies.

Frequently asked questions

Which angle tolerance is usual in bending?

About ±0.5 to ±1 degree, tighter with angle measurement on the machine. Dimensional tolerances are ±0.1 to ±0.3 mm depending on the part.

What do width and length in the listing mean?

Length is the maximum bending length of the machine, width the dimension of the part across it. Material thickness is the most the machine bends; over the full length the value can be lower. If in doubt, ask with material, thickness and bending length.

Is one of your machines idle next week?

List it before the week stays empty.
